I for one would be very sad if you listened to the idiots out there and let them persuade you to do anything different. I visit regularly and love it - originals, reblogs and all. If there's one thing we can learn from FZ it's that we have to be true to ourselves and let the others go to hell. So keep up the good work and a Happy Zappadan to you. Al Stone. (I wrote to you about your Dad and you mentioned it here. I hope you are coping with the loss.)
Wow, thank you so much. I wouldn’t let them persuade me, only maybe to be a little pissed off haha. Happy Zappadan to you as well! I am coping with the loss as best I can, to be honest it was nerve wracking last year to even listen to Zappa or be on here much because me and my Dad had a close musical bond with Zappa. But this year, I feel it’s a way to stay connected with my Dad and to help heal my long painful grief process. I appreciate your support!
Did you know there are actually people out there who absolutely hate the idea of spreading Zappa’s music and Zappa himself around the internet?
Comments such as, “Let’s not make Zappa hipster”. “Get this blog off of here!”. “Of course a white girl would make a Zappa blog, where’s your starbucks?”
Those are real comments, messages, and the like that I’ve received RECENTLY. I will not post them, anonymous or not. BUT, I will make a statement in saying that for one… THIS WAS NOT THE FIRST BLOG OUT THERE IN THE INTERWEBS. NOR WILL IT BE THE LAST ONE.
Secondly, I won’t take the blog down, too many people like it. Hell, it’d still be here even if I was the only person who had an interest in it.
I would be happy to discuss things about Zappa over some Starbucks (on you of course because sadly this white girl can’t make it to a 4$ “coffee”).
Yet, tobacco is my favorite vegetable…and things just go better with coke…So i’ll take a rain check. Oh, you weren’t offering? Hmm… I don’t remember asking your opinion…
